Care Instructions

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the surface regularly to remove dust and dirt.
  • Mix a small amount of mild soap or dish detergent with lukewarm water.
  • Dampen a soft cloth with the soapy water and gently wipe the stained area.
  • Avoid soaking the material; use only a slightly damp cloth.
  • Wipe off any soap residue with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Dry the area with a soft towel.
  • For a thorough clean, use a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for synthetic leathers.
  • Follow the product instructions carefully.
  • Test the cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn’t damage the material.
  • Use a vegan leather conditioner or a small amount of baby oil to keep the material supple.
  • Apply sparingly with a soft cloth, and buff gently to maintain the sheen and softness.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and cracking.
  • Hang or lay flat in storage to avoid creasing.
  • Use padded hangers to maintain shape if hanging.
  • Keep away from sharp objects that could puncture or scratch the surface.
  • Ensure good air circulation around stored items to prevent mildew and odors.

Sewing Tips

  • The key to success when sewing this fabric is to avoid permanent puncture holes as well as avoid the fabric from sticking to your machine.
  • Do use sewing clips to hold fabric together, avoid pins that will leave puncture holes.
  • Use a walking foot or non-stick teflon
  • Cut layers individually to avoid sticking, and right side down if tracing
  • Use weight to keep pattern pieces in place
  • Needle: sharp Microtex or denim needle (80/12 or 90/14)
  • Avoid leather needles as they have cutting points that can tear synthetic fabrics
  • Stitch length: 3.0-4.0mm, shorter stitches than this weaken the seam by creating a perforated tear line.
  • Prevent sitcking with a teflon, roller or walking foot
  • Avoid direct heat, as high heat will melt and damage this fabric. Use the lowest setting as well as a pressing cloth and avoid using steam.
  • Test scraps to practice if needed.
